Samburu National Reserve is home to crocodiles, cheetah, lion, leopards, buffalo, hippo, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and Beisa Oryx etc.
The reserve is also a paradise for bird lovers, with over 350 species of birds already recorded. You can enjoy a colorful assortment of birds such as vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches and many more.
You will have an opportunity to interact with the colorful Samburu tribe and learn about their culture and ways of life. Our next destination on the 4 Days 3 Nights Sweetwaters Olpejeta Samburu Kenya Safari is located 185 km south of Samburu. This is the Sweetwaters/ Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
The Conservancy is a 90,000-acre private wildlife conservancy situated on the equator, in Kenya’s Laikipia District, between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snow-capped Mount Kenya.
The Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals, including the Big Five (the endangered black and white rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion), Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, cheetah and chimpanzee.

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive To Sweetwaters/ Ol Pejeta Conservancy
0800 Hours: After breakfast, our Safari departs from Nairobi and proceeds north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to arrive in time for lunch at your lodge/ camp.
1200 Hours: We enjoy lunch then we relax before setting out on an afternoon game-drive in Conservancy which is East Africa’s Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees and holds some of the highest predator densities in Kenya.
Extra activities such as game walks, night game drives, horseback, guided bush walks, lion tracking, camel rides, bird watching, game viewing from blinds and meals in the bush are available upon request.

Day 2: Sweetwaters/ Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Drive To Samburu Game Reserve
0800 Hours: This morning we travel by road to Kenya’s Northern Frontier District. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River.
It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa oryxes.
1200 Hours: We arrive at our lodge/ camp and check-in. Lunch follows.
1530 Hours: In the afternoon we explore the park in search for Lions, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalos etc.

Day 3: Full Day In Samburu National Reserve
This full day in the Samburu Game Reserve will be spent searching for the big five, the Samburu five and observing the vast unspoiled scenery during morning and afternoon game viewing drives.
Samburu game reserve is renowned for its rare species of animals unique to the park, namely: the long necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and Beisa onyx.
The elusive Kenya leopard is often known to visit the park, especially in the evenings. Other Kenyan wildlife present in the park includes cheetahs and lions, as well as elephants, buffalo and hippos.
Birdlife is as plentiful as wildlife at Samburu National Reserve, which boasts over 350 different species of birds including vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches and others.
A camel-back safari is a specialty in Samburu, as well as a cultural visit to the Samburu people who depend on their cattle, goat, sheep and donkey.

Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve – Drive To Nairobi
0630 Hours – 0830 Hours: Enjoy an early morning Game-drive.
0900 Hours: Return back to your lodge/ camp for a proper sit down English breakfast.
1000 Hours: Check-out of the hotel and depart by road back to Nairobi arriving late afternoon.
