Bwindi is home to roughly half of the world’s population of the Mountain Gorilla, an estimated 340 mountain gorillas, live in this forest.

Aside from Mountain Gorilla, Bwindi National Park has over 200 species of butterflies and 350 species of birds. The park is also home to antelopes, elephants and almost 400 species of plants.

Day 1: Kampala – Drive To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have an early breakfast and depart from Kampala and head Western Uganda. A brief stop at the Equator provides an opportunity of photographing.

Here we enjoy an experimenting of how water rotates on the South hemispheres and the Northern hemispheres (clockwise on the South hemispheres and anticlockwise on the Northern hemispheres).

We then get a cup of a coffee/ tea and continue to the rolling hills and terraced landscapes of Kabale District. Have lunch in Mbarara town and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for a night.

Day 2: Explore Bwindi (Gorilla Tracking & Cultural Entertainment)

After an early morning breakfast and guide briefing, set off for your gorilla tracking in the forests of Bwindi.

This Park is best known for the fascinating gorillas, where the time taken to find them and terrain varies according to the movements of these marvelous primates. Trekking time is unpredictable.

Though the time spent to track down these Gorillas is unpredictable, the thrill of spending time and observing these gentle giant gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure.

The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they play and interact.

A packed lunch, drinking water will be carried along as you track, comfortable boots or sturdy shoes, as well a light rain jacket are also important due to the unpredictable weather of Bwindi Impenetrable forest.

Walking sticks will be available from the park rangers. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour.

The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these gentle giants. In the evening, proceed to the village for a cultural walk to interact with the local people.

Participate in captivating traditional performances presented by Women’s groups or orphan children groups.

Note that the fees you pay for these performances go directly to improve the welfare of families around the park.

Day 3: Bwindi – Drive To Lake Bunyonyi

You can opt to first have a guided nature walk in Bwindi. This decision should be based on whether you should use the village trial or one of the five trails. After lunch break, we depart for Lake Bunyonyi.
