6 DAYS UGANDA WILDLIFE SAFARI CHIMPANZEE GORILLA TREKKING HOLIDAY ITINERARY

Day 1: Kampala –Drive To Queen Elizabeth National Park

From Kampala we will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. On our way we will pass the Ugandan equator where you can take pictures and shop for a souvenir.

After lunch in Mbarara we continue to the southwest and head for the Western Rift Valley. Upon arrival in the park you might spot the first wildlife, like waterbucks and warthogs, before arriving at your accommodations.

With a game drive en-route expect to see different animals which include the comical warthogs, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, hyenas and a variety of antelope species.

Dinner and overnight at your preferred accommodation.

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park (Game Drive & Chimp Tracking In Kyambura Gorge)

Rise up early in the morning and head for a game drive. As you drive through the northern part of the Kazinga channel.

The network of tracks enables you to find elephants, lions, antelopes, giant forest hogs, waterbucks and others.You may get the chance to see wild animals like lions, Uganda Kobs, elephants, spotted hyenas and leopards plus many others.

Having enjoyed your lunch, head for an afternoon chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge.

During your trek, search for man’s closest cousins (the chimpanzees) as they feed their young ones, you may get the chance of seeing others playing from the tree branches.

Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth Morning Game Drive – Drive To Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Wake up early in the morning for breakfast, prepare to depart Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will go through the Ishasha sector of the park which is famous for harboring the tree climbing lions.
You may also get to see other animals that you might have missed during the previous drives. Remember this park is famous for its richness in bio diversity.

It is estimated to host approximately 68 different species of mammals like waterbucks, jackals, Buffalo, Eland, leopard, elephants, to mention but a few.

The five lakes within the park attract crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of water birds, while the fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists, like the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus Gonalek.

After this additional fun carry on to Bwindi Forest and on arrival relax while preparing for the next day.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Gorilla Trekking

After your hearty breakfast early in the morning, move to the ranger station with your packed lunch and tracking gears.

The ranger guide will brief you about how to behave in the presence of the gentle eyed mountain gorillas.

Move into the park to begin the memorable search in the gorilla sanctuary. Have fun in the beautiful prehistoric forest and feel its freshness.

This forest is always wet, moist and it may rain at any time of the day therefore you need to wear warm water proof clothes. Remember to wear long trousers because there are beetles that may sting you.

The time to take meet the gorillas is not known because of the movement of the gorillas as they look for their food.

Also during your search, you may have the chance of seeing other primates that live in the forest like the, black-and-white colobus monkey, red tail monkey and chimpanzee.

The moment you meet the brown eyed, calm gorillas you may forget the fatigue you have because it is a memorable and exciting encounter. Stay with them for an hour watching and following the gorillas.

Take their photo graphs however you need a sound proof camera. In case you are not so tied, you will have the chance of participating in the community walk to the Batwa land.

Day 5: Bwindi Forest – Drive To Lake Mburo National Park

After that interesting gorilla tacking expedition, rise up early in the morning and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. View the undulating Kisoro hills on the way.

Have your fun while taking your lunch and head to the park for a game drive. This park is uniquely known for being the habitat to the burchell Zebras, statungas, impalas gigantic eland antelopes the list is endless.

You should remember that this park is also the only one of its king in Uganda that has a big lake midst it.

You can also carry out a walking safari in this park because it is proved to have no predators/ man eaters. The animals cannot be exhausted because of time.
