7 Days 6 Nights Uganda Wildlife Safari Chimpanzee Gorilla Trekking under the 7 Days Kampala Safaris is a wonderful low-cost one week safari by road covering many of Uganda’s key areas.
These include Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Lake Mburo National Park.
Kibale Forest National Park is the home of primates in Africa. Here you find 12 primate species including; Chimpanzees, L’Hoest Monkey, Red-tailed Monkey, Black and White Colobus monkey, Red Colobus monkey, Olive Baboon, Thick-tailed bush baby, Lesser Galago, Coppery-tailed monkey, Blue monkey, Vervet monkey to mention.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is blessed with multitude of wildlife, birds, crater lakes, fresh water lakes, hot springs.
The park offers so much to explore, wildlife include; the big 4 (Lions, Elephant, Buffalo and Leopard), Hyena, Hippos, Uganda Kob, Topi and so much more.
The park also has 2 fresh water lakes, Lake Edward and Lake George and these 2 lakes are connected by the Kazinga channel.
A boat ride on this channel gives an opportunity to spot many bird species including; Kingfishers, fish eagles, Pelicans, African spoon bill, African darters etc.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a home to more than half of the remaining mountain Gorillas. This park is famous for Gorilla trekking and Habituation.
Gorilla trekking aside, it is also blessed with bird species, forest elephants which can be seen on a lucky day and other primate species as well.
Lake Mburo National Park is home to 350 bird species as well as zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hyena, topi and reedbuck.
The grand finale to this 7 Days 6 Nights Uganda Wildlife Safari Chimpanzee Gorilla Trekking ends with a boat ride combined with a game drive which offer an excellent way to enjoy the flora and fauna in the park.

DAY 1: KAMPALA – DRIVE TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
After early breakfast at your hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe, depart for a 5 to 6 hours drive to Kibale Chimpanzee Park. The drive takes you through the Ugandan countryside, traditional homesteads and farms.
Pass through Fort Portal that rests in the shadows of Rwenzori Mountain “Mountains of the Moon” and Kibale National Park.
Depending on the schedule, we may stop off at Fort Portal town for lunch or proceed to have lunch at our accommodations in Kibale Forest National Park. After lunch we take a visit to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided walk.
Bogodi swamp is home to several primates species like the red colobus monkey, baboon, black & white colobus monkey, blue monkey grey cheeked, mangabey, vervet monkey, red tailed monkey and the L’Hoest monkey.
Additional Mammals such as chimpanzees, Sitatunga, mongooses, bush pigs, otters plus bush bucks, also visit this swamp coming from the adjacent Kibale National Park.
The swamp is also home to over 138 species of birds. The major bird species within the sanctuary is the grand Blue Turaco. The walk lasts between 2½ – 3 hours and is very popular with bird watchers.
Return to the lodge for dinner relaxation and overnight.

DAY 2: KIBALE FOREST MORNING CHIMPANZEE TRACKING
Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and proceed to the Kanyanchu park headquarters. Here we get a chimpanzee pre-track briefing by the forest guide.
Kanyanchu in the central part of Kibale, is the main trailhead for the parks famous forest walks, the most popular of which is the regular Primate Walk.
The activity starts early in the morning at 0800 hours and the success rate to see them in Kibale is over 98%.
Chimpanzee tracking (trekking) can take up to 3 hours. Expect to see other primates such as Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Black faced Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons and an incredible array of bird life, including the Great Blue Turaco.
You will also see varieties of birds, butterflies and many small insects. The ranger will provide detailed explanations on not only the primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, ensuring that your walk is both informative and enjoyable.
Spend about an hour with the chimpanzees observing them up close and taking some close-up pictures.
The chimpanzee day trek requirements include long trousers preferably jeans, long-sleeved shirts, light hiking boots, daypack with a liter of bottled water, wide-brimmed hat and a light rain-jacket.
Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation in the afternoon.

DAY 3: KIBALE FOREST – DRIVE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
An early morning breakfast and leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes about 3 hours. Once you entre Queen Elizabeth National Park, proceed for a game drive en-route to your accommodations.
This park provides excellent opportunities to see Lion, Leopard, Giant Forest Hog, Cape Buffalo, Elephant, Defassa Waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi, Bush buck and many more.
After lunch, enjoy the exclusive 2-hour boat cruise on Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals will be seen drinking at the water’s edge.
This launch cruise offers an exceptional platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing, ideal for the Uganda safari. The productive bird life is colorful and astonishing with well over 550 resident species.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: QUEEN ELIZABETH – DRIVE TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Today we start with breakfast followed by check-out and proceed for a game run through the southern part of Queen Elizabeth park called Ishasha sector – notably recognized for its resident tree climbing lions, huge buffalo herds and elephants amongst others.
We enjoy our picnin lunch boxes or have lunch at Ishasha Wilderness camp then later proceed southwards to Bwindi Forest National Park.
Upon arrival we check-in to our accommodations of choice at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park then late afternoon take a forest walk (depending on where we have reserved permits for the gorillas).

DAY 5: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST GORILLA TREKKING
After your hearty breakfast early in the morning, move to the ranger station with your packed lunch and tracking gears.
The ranger guide will brief you about how to behave in the presence of the gentle eyed mountain gorillas.
Move into the park to begin the memorable search in the gorilla sanctuary. Have fun in the beautiful prehistoric forest and feel its freshness.
This forest is always wet, moist and it may rain at any time of the day therefore you need to wear warm water proof clothes. Remember to wear long trousers because there are beetles that may sting you.
The time to take meet the gorillas is not known because of the movement of the gorillas as they look for their food.
Also during your search, you may have the chance of seeing other primates that live in the forest like the, black-and-white colobus monkey, red tail monkey and chimpanzee.
The moment you meet the brown eyed, calm gorillas you may forget the fatigue you have because it is a memorable and exciting encounter. Stay with them for an hour watching and following the gorillas.
Take their photo graphs however you need a sound proof camera. In case you are not so tied, you will have the chance of participating in the community walk to the Batwa land.

DAY 6: BWINDI FOREST – DRIVE TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
After that interesting gorilla tacking expedition, rise up early in the morning and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way we enjoy the scenic views of the undulating Kisoro hills on the way.
Have your fun while taking your lunch and head to the park for a game drive. This park is uniquely known for being home to the burchell zebra, statunga, impala, eland etc.
You should remember that this park is also the only one of its king in Uganda that has a big lake midst it. You can also pertake on a walking safari walking safari.
