15 Days Photographic Safari


This is  photographer's safari tailored to meet and exceed their expectations.

Day 1:  Arrival – Nairobi
Upon arrival , you will be met by our airport representative and transferred to Safari Park Hotel. After check in you will assemble for Pre-safari briefing and orientation.
Overnight: Safari Park Hotel – Distance: 20 kms – 45 minutes drive  (B)

Day 2: - Samburu Game Reserve
Meet your safari guide after breakfast and head north through breathtaking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee. Before Nanyuki town, you will stop at THE EQUATOR for a memorable EQUATOR BRIEFING and later WATER DEMONSTRATION. EQUATOR CROSSING CERTIFICATES WILL BE ISSUED to each member within the group. After Nanyuki town, you will reach the outpost known as Isiolo, the last major stop on the journey into the remote northern frontier. Descend from the lush highlands to the arid Laikipia Plains and the small oasis of the famed Samburu Game Reserve. Samburu lies on the fringe of the hot and sparsely populated northern region of Kenya. In the afternoon, there will be a game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.

DAY 3:  – Samburu Game Reserve
Both Morning and afternoon game drives are scheduled for today.  Samburu harbours a number of wildlife species rarely found elsewhere.  Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing in search of Northern Species of Game not seen south of the Equator, such as Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy, Zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich.  Another creature UNIQUE to these areas is the Long-necked Gerenuk (meaning ‘giraffe neck’), a graceful antelope that stands upright on its hind legs to feed on tall bushes.  The Uaso Nyiro River provides bathing pools for hippos, elephants and crocodiles.  Keep your eyes open for lion, cheetah, or elusive leopard.  There is also a variety of birds like vulturine guinea fowl among others.

Day 4: Sweetwaters Game Reserve

Descending from the northern frontier, drive southwards towards the foot of Mount Kenya, you will arrive in good time for lunch at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Sweetwaters Conservancy Park was set up so that CHIMPS could be taught to fend for themselves in an area similar to their natural living conditions.  Priority is given to orphaned and abused chimps.  Your afternoon includes a SAFARI drive before returning to your lodge as the sun sets.
Dinner and overnight: Sweetwaters Tented Luxury Camp (B,L,D). Approx.155 kms – 2 ½  hrs drive.

DAY 5: –Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early breakfast, drive past the northern tip of the Aberdare mountains, then descend into the Great Rift Valley where Lake Nakuru is located.  Arrive in time for lunch and short rest. L. Nakuru is a shallow soda lake, renowned for its huge concentration of flamingos.  It is also a Rhino sanctuary.  The afternoon game drive is included and you will return to your lodge as the sun sets! Dinner and overnight – Lake Nakuru Lodge -(B,L,D) Distance Approx. 220 kms. – 3 hrs drive

DAY 6: -  Masai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast climb the Western Escarpment of the Rift Valley and head towards Masai Mara.  With its vast open plains and distinctive flat-topped acacia trees, no visit to Kenya would be complete without a visit here.  Enjoying views of picturesque Masai tribesmen herding cattle on the way, you arrive in time for lunch and a well deserved rest! Afternoon game drive includes searching for the Big Five, elephants, Buffalos, lions, Rhinos and leopards, before returning to your lodge as the sun sets!

DAY 7:  – Masai Mara Game Reserve
The early morning calm air of the Masai Mara has made possible the introduction of Hot Air Balloon flights, available as an optional extra, from leading lodges and camps in the reserve.  (Please reserve early to avoid disappointment for this adventure!).
Pre-breakfast morning game drive in the reserve, a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve.  After a rewarding game drive, return to your lodge for late morning breakfast.  Later just relax till afternoon game drive or visit the nearby Masai Mara village as optional excursions tour of a hot air balloon ride to see the park from a bird’s eye view.

DAY 9: 15th Sept. 2009   – Amboseli National Park
Depart after break fast and journey back to Nairobi for lunch at a local restaurant.  After lunch, drive on to Amboseli National Park arriving in time for en-route game drive to the lodge in the back drop of majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. Check into the lodge as the sun sets!

DAY 10:  – Amboseli National Park
A game drive through Amboseli takes you across this vast lakebed – often dry, but still very swampy in some areas.  Amboseli is best known for its great herds of elephant – you will often find many of them standing knee-deep in the water, spraying themselves to keep cool.  But there is a lot of other game here too – cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, many types of gazelle and other plains game- and it is all set against the amazing backdrop of majestic  Mount Kilimanjaro showing all its glory.

DAY 11: -  Tsavo West National Park
Renown to host the huge concentration of African elephants and other plain games.  You will drive through the SHETANI LAVA (aftermath of the formation of Mt. Kilimanjaro) on to the crystal clear springs water that is known as the MZIMA (lifeline) springs which supports the life line of this semi arid park.  An afternoon game viewing is included.

DAY 12:   Tsavo West  National Park

DAY 13 -  – Mombasa
Depart early do en-route game drive out of Tsavo and drive further south and arrive in Mombasa city ( a second largest city in Kenya) for your beach holiday.  Rest of the day relax by the beach.

DAY 15:  -  NAIROBI  - Departure Flying time: 45 minutes
Return to  Nairobi by am  flight. Upon arrival, you are met and embark on a city tour of Nairobi. An afternoon drive takes you through Kenya’s modern, mile high tour of the city including visits to Giraffe Center, where you have a rare opportunity of feeding the gentle Rothschild’s Giraffe and Karen Blixen Museum dedicated to the author of Out of Africa. (Lunch at own arrangement), After city tour, you will proceed on for a farewell dinner at a world renown Carnivore Restaurant (African Barbeque Restaurant), vegetarian menu available.  You will then be transferred to airport for your  journey back home with ‘a never ending memories’ of a lifetime!
