Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park were once a single park, but are now separated.
Tsavo West National Park is situated west of its sister, Tsavo East National Park, and is approximately 173 kilometers north-west of Mombasa.
Tsavo East National Park is considered the best for topography fans who also want to view Kenya’s animals and birds. It is one of the oldest and largest African safari parks in Kenya.
It was established in 1948 and covers 11,747 km², although not all of the park is open to the public.
These are the most common Kenyan animals you may see during your visit to Tsavo East National Park: Cape buffalo, cheetahs, duikers, African elephants, gazelles, gerenuks, giraffes, hares etc.

Lake Jipe attracts a lot of wildlife and is a good place for bird watching.
Mzima Springs is at the north end of Tsavo West. Watch the hippos swimming and underwater

Bird watching: over 500 bird species have been recorded including ostriches, kestrels, buzzards, starlings, weavers, herons etc

Mudanda Rock is a 1.6km outcrop of rock, with a dam at its base. This is a popular drinking place for animals

Day 1: Watamu – Drive To Tsavo East National Park
Depart early in the morning after breakfast for Tsavo East National Park. Arrive in the hotel for lunch and short rest.
After lunch there will be a game drive in search of ‘Red’ Elephants, Buffalos, Antelopes and many other animals.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tsavo East – Drive To Tsavo West National Park
Today we depart by road for Tsavo West National Park. After check-in and lunch, an afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive in this vast Park is planned.
The Park comprises a diversity of habitats, open plains alternating with savannah bush and semi-desert scrub; acacia woodlands; rocky ridges and outcrops.
With a permanent water source, the Park virtually guarantees enormous herds and excellent game viewing including Cheetah, Lion, Leopard and Hyena and a herd of over 3,500 Elephants.

Day 3: Tsavo West National Park – Drive To Watamu
