Routing (1 night Aberdare, 2 nights Mt Kenya, 1 night Lake Nakuru, 2 nights Masai Mara – Nairobi – Departure)

 

Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park

Along the way, you may stop at the colourful Karatina Market and sample the local wares. You will check in at aberdare country club, this is base hotel where you check and deposit your luggage ready to go to Aberdare National Park. NOTE: Only overnite hand luggage is allowed at Ark. .NOTE: Only overnite hand luggage is allowed at both Treetops/Ark. This park is made famous by Queen Elizabeth the 2nd who ascended to the throne in 1952 while on a holiday visit. Here animals come for salt lick and you view them from the Balcony of the lodge. Day 2: Aberdares-Mount Kenya
After breakfast, proceed to the unique Serena Mountain Lodge Tree Hotel. Set on the slopes of rocky Mt. Kenya, the lodge has a spectacular view over the rain forest, an active waterhole and the surrounding bush. This unique lodge has served as an inspiration to Authors and writers. Among other host of wildlife viewed from the lodge terrace/balcony includes, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and occasionally rhinos and the rare leopards. Mount Kenya (5,199 m) is Kenya’s highest mountain, a national icon, a climbers’ Mecca, the nation’s namesake, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site and a wildlife stronghold. One of the world’s highest National Parks, it is also an extinct volcano some three and a half million years old and the sacred home of “Ngai” (God of the Kikuyu tribesmen). Day 3: Full Day in Mount Kenya
full day spend leisurely in Mount Kenya. Meals and accommodation at the hotel “Serena Mountain Lodge” based on full board.

Day 4: Mount Kenya- Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast descend into the Great Rift Valley where Lake Nakuru is located.  Arrive in time for lunch and short rest. L. Nakuru is a shallow soda lake, renowned for its huge concentration of flamingos.  It is also a Rhino sanctuary. You embark on a game drive which includes a walk on the shores of the lake to view flamingoes from close range. Keep your eyes open for the elusive Leopard or the Tree climbing lions of this park.   The afternoon game drive is included and you will return to your lodge as the sun sets! Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
After breakfast climb the Western Escarpment of the Rift Valley and head towards Masai Mara.  With its vast open plains and distinctive flat-topped acacia trees, acacia trees, no visit to Kenya would be complete without a visit here. Enjoying views of picturesque Masai tribesmen herding cattle on the way, you arrive in time for lunch and a short rest. Your afternoon game drive includes searching for the Big Five, elephants, Buffalos, lions, Rhinos and leopards, before returning to your lodge as the sun sets! Day 6: Masai Mara
Spend your days in this magnificent savannah country, home to Kenya’s most varied animal population. Lion may be seen throughout the park, along with elephant, giraffe and zebra. Cheetah and leopard are also regularly spotted, and you may also find rhino. Pre-breakfast morning game drive in the reserve, a great opportunity to explore the vast flora and fauna of this magnificent reserve.  After a rewarding game drive, return to your lodge for late morning breakfast. Later just relax till afternoon game drive or visit the nearby Masai Mara village as optional excursions. OR a full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes  which includes  visits to Mara River, Kenya -Tanzania Border Post and a great chance to view  the “Big Five.  You will have your picnic lunch at Hippo Pool as you watch the crocodiles living in harmony with hippos. Return to your camp late in the afternoon   Dinner and Overnight –   Mara Sentrim or similar  (B,L,D)

Day 7: Nairobi – Departure

Pre- breakfast morning game drive in the park. Return for breakfast and journey back to Nairobi arrive and transfer to airport for your flight back home. B, Distance 280 kms 5hrs drive. (Poor road network- Half of the way roads are in poor state, with potholes and it may take more time than the estimated).
