3 Days 2 Nights Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari from the 3 Day Uganda Safaris travels to Uganda’s most-visited and most popular National Park called Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Accessing the park from Kampala is either on tarmac through Mbarara (420 kilometers) or Fort Portal via Kasese (410 kilometers).

Queen Elizabeth National Park is a 5 to 6 hours drive from Kampala on surface road. The park can also be reached via Ishasha sector, which is south of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The park’s diverse ecosystems, which include sprawling savanna, shady, humid forests, sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, make it the ideal habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds.

The grassland plains supports a variety of animals which can be viewed from a vehicle on the network of tracks designated in the park.

About 20 predators are found in the 3 Days 2 Nights Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari such as lions, leopards, side stripped jackal and spotted hyena among others.

Common Antelopes species include the kob, bush buck, topi and water buck. Other animals which can even be found at Mweya Peninsular are; Buffalo, Elephant, Warthog and Hippo.

There are also various primate species are available in the park including chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkey, black and white colobus monkey, olive baboons among others.

The Ishasha sector is famously known for its tree climbing lions and it is also known to host the world’s highest concentration of hippos.

Over 500 species of birds have been recorded like; the black bee-eater, 11 types of king fisher, and several species of falcons, eagles and the raptors and many more.

One of the park’s assets is the Kazinga Channel between Lakes George and Edward which provides the launch tripe, the favorite way of viewing the game.

Day 1: Kampala – Driver With Scenic Views To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have an early breakfast and then drive towards western Uganda. Have a stopover at the equator for photographs and have lunch en route.

Ensue to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey.

Have a game drive en route which will reward you with views of Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species.

Depart for sightseeing in the crater region and also visit the Katwe Salt works for a glimpse into traditional salt mining. The drive from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park will take a minimum of 6 hours.

Day 2 : Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park (Game Drive And Boat Cruise)

6115 Hours: Enjoy a light breakfast (Tea/ coffee with a snack) and depart for the early morning game-drive in search of wildlife.

The park which provides excellent opportunities to see Lions, Leopards, Giant Forest Hogs, Cape Buffaloes, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topis, Bush bucks and many more.

0900 Hours: Return to the lodge by followed by a full English buffet breakfast at the lodge enjoying the views of Kazinga Channel. Later relax or swimming in the inviting pool.

1300 Hours: Lunch will be served followed by an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga. After lunch, enjoy the unique 2 hours launch cruise on Kazinga Channel. The boat safari starts at 1500 Hours and ends at about 1700 Hours.

This trip will pass through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals that may be seen drinking at the water’s edge.

This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing, the climax for this Uganda safari.

1800 Hours: Later in the evening return to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Drive To Kampala

Optional Chimpanzee tracking en route to Kampala: After an early breakfast in case you so wish, proceed to Kyambura gorge for a walk to search for the chimps.

The main activity here is chimpanzee tracking though the chances of seeing the chimps in this gorge are at 50-50.

However, this is compensated with the presences of the other primates, and the gorge itself is a beautiful place to visit.

You will then have a lunch en route on your way to Kampala. Transfer to your Hotel or to the Airport for your departure flight.
